Ive been surf fishing for a long time on the Atlantic coast. I now am moving to Alabama, Gulf shores area. I stopping in, in two weeks and want to fish while in town. Whats the best surf fishing rig for the area? #1/0 is my usual set up with 17lb – 20lb test, I like shrimp, but whats the best for gulf coast area?

so my boyfriend baled on me, and I feel like the beach. I also feel like fishing, so I wanna go saltwater fishing tomorrow. I have some regular poles around the house…. and I’m not too concerned with how much I’ll catch. I just need some relax time. Anyone have any suggestions a to what i should bring? and would the regular poles be okay for fishing from shore/about knee deep? Also i’ll be taking the bus so tips on that.

You’ll need to take them apart,if they do separate into two parts in the middle,so you can transport them on the bus.you’ll need some bait,clams or squid or fish for bait works,and have some water,snacks and stuff,if you get hungry.some tackle meaning hooks weights and stuff,and a knife,some pliers to get the hook out and a bag or bucket for the fish you catch to bring them home in.A bucket is ideal,’cause you can carry all the gear in it.
